Ritual bathing has been done for thousands of years and in all parts of the world to clean the outer body and cleanse your inner spiritual self of negative energies while aligning your self towards your set intentions for the bath. Candy Eaton, mother, drum goddess, belly dancer and high priestess for the last 21 years created this simple bath salt recipe to help you to achieve this. She calls this:
The Goddess Beauty Bath
Most of the things you’ll need you can find in your garden or at your local Whole Foods or at your local new age store. If using fresh herbs you will need to dry them at least 13 days or for a half moons cycle.
What you’ll need:
Mortar and pestle
1 cup unrefined sea salt
Dried herbs
Almond oil (Base oil)
Essential oils
Jar with lid
Pure intention
How to make it:
During the waxing phase of the moon
1 teaspoon Lavender buds
½ teaspoon catnip
½ teaspoon rose petals
While grinding these herbs with your mortar and pestle envision the great goddess bathing in her sacred well.
In a large bowl mix ½ cup of salt and herbs together
Then add 1 teaspoon almond oil
3 drops jasmine essential oil
7 drops lavender essential oil
Mix together well until your salts feel like moist beach sand
Add to your jar
Prepare your sacred bath Light some candles and get yourself a nice glass of wine
Add 1/3 of your mixture to your bath
Get in add a dab of mixture to your hands and as you scrub your arms and body recite these words
“Cleanse my body
Strengthen my heart
Awaken me to understand
Healing waters of the West, bless my body, make me whole
Purify my spirit, illuminate my soul”
