It's GoddessLife Woman of the Week Wednesday! Here at GoddessLife HQ, we feature a woman who embodies the highest possible expression of her nature. Honoring the brilliance in other women will help all of us on our path to living our own true potential.
Eartha Kitt truly lived a glamorous GoddessLife! She is the original woman who sang the classic holiday song, "Santa Baby". But she was best known for the role of Catwoman for the 3rd season of the 1960s Batman TV series, replacing Julie Newmar, who was unavailable for the final season. But there was so much more to this actress, singer and cabaret star that Orson Welles once called the "most exciting woman in the world". The picture to the right is one of my cherished possessions. It's a postcard for a cabaret show she did to release an album with the same title. I read her autobiography in awe of just how bold, outrageous and playful a woman can be. My favorite adventure she had was about the time she was doing a cabaret act in Istanbul and the Prince of Turkey was so enamored with her; he gave her the Crown Jewels! When she went to leave the country, the King forbid her to leave with the heirlooms. She protested, saying, "It was a gift!" I saw her perform many times at the Cinegrill in Los Angeles, as was still performing until just a few years ago. She still had an unbelievable voice, body and charisma in her late 70's. Thanks for showing us how to be a Goddess, Eartha!
