It's GoddessLife's Woman of the Week Wednesday - Jane Birkin

It's GoddessLife's Woman of the Week Wednesdays! Here at GoddessLife HQ, we feature a woman who embodies the highest possible expression of her nature. Honoring the brilliance in other women will help all of us on our path to living our own true potential. Today we are featuring Jane Birkin.

Birkin emerged in the Swinging London scene of the 1960s, appearing briefly in the 1966 film Blowup, and as the fantasy-like model in the psychedelic Wonderwall from 1968. That same year, she auditioned in France for a movie with Serge Gainsbourg which began a relationship for which she is perhaps best known for. THIS relationship and of course THE BIRKIN BAG: In 1981, Hermès chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was seated next to Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. She had just placed her straw bag in the overhead compartment of her seat, but the contents fell to the floor, leaving her to scramble to replace the contents. Birkin explained to Dumas that it had been difficult to find a leather weekend bag she liked. In 1984, he created a black supple leather bag for her: the Birkin bag - which has become the most coveted purses and well-known (by her namesake) of all time.
