January 2011 Newsletter- PhD in Pampering

I’m a Goddess and we are notoriously terrible at cleanses. The last time I drank water with lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup; I had a ghastly headache, felt totally deprived and ended up going on the cupcake cleanse. Cleanses are typically aggressive, severe and strict. These are masculine traits. If I am going to do a cleanse, the process needs to be feminine. In other words, it will require nurturing, pampering and gentleness. These are all aspects of femininity. Fortunately, I have the perfect solution! I have made a divine discovery: soaking in the warmth of a hot bath can be more than just a decadently delicious experience. Hot mineral baths are a form of therapy used to improve health, treat diseases and…cleanse toxins (in addition to your cleansing your body)!

A hot mineral bath = A Cleanse

Hot mineral baths are serious science and I recently learned that you could actually receive a doctorate in bathing! When I realized I could be a “Bath Doctor”, I decided to return to school. It is called hydrothermal therapy and the field of study is called Balneology. J’adore baths! How freakin fabulous that they have the all benefits of cleanses, as well as, luxurious pampering!

So, I have decided to dedicate this newsletter to the GoddessLife way of cleansing – bathing! Because every Goddess should have a PhD in pampering!

Thank you Dolphina.I love your cleanse concept. It is so refreshing and inspiring to read your blog, we women are usually too hard on ourselves, and we shouldn't be because we are goddesses :) hope that you will get to teach a class in San Diego soon.

I ordered the bath salts you recommended. The bath salts came in today. I'll try them out later on. They smell better than what I thought it would. Hubby tried it out and he liked it, after a hard day of working out in the cold. I'm glad I ordered them

thank you very much for inspiring me to take more BATHS! For my winter skin I put a can of condensed milk and a few drops of lavender oil, and I just got out and my skin has never felt so GREAT! Facials and massages i...ncluded! I hear oatmeal is a good thing to put with the milk. Third, I really hope you don't mind this, but during said bath I couldn't stop pondering and I wanted to ask you, and the beautiful women that follow you...when you hear the word "feminine" what is it that you think of? What is "femininity"?

Bathing truly is an art form in and of itself. It is my favorite form of pampering myself. I take care in deciding what oils or salts to put in the tub, what color candles, incense, music...I just love it! I live in Las Cruces, NM. There is a town about an hour away that is famous for its Hot Springs. It is called Truth or Consequences. I'm not so sure about the name of the town, but the mineral baths are out of this world. I particularly enjoy the Riverbend Hot Springs. Five public baths ranging from hot to hotter to hottest with a lovely view of the river and mountains. You can also enjoy a private bath if that is what you desire. I like to drive up to T or C at least once every month or two.
