Name 2010 and it will help remind you of the resolutions you made and motivate you to keep them all year long.
Begin by writing down all your goals and aspirations for 2010. Think of what you want to achieve both personally and professionally. Try not censoring yourself. Jot down both large and small dreams and ideas. You can also cut out pictures from magazines that represent your desires. Seeing all your wishes for the New Year visually will help you see the bigger picture.
Once you see the idea that unites and sums up all your individual goals, select one word that succinctly articulates them. Condensing your aspirations into a simple word will help you to achieve them. This word will help motivate you when you’re ready to throw in the towel.
Post the word where you need the most inspiration to help you stay focused on your goals such as your refrigerator, alarm clock or your desk at work.
Personally, I chose the word ‘expansion’ a few years ago when I opened my dance studio. Another year I selected ‘breathe’ to help me slow down the pace of my hectic lifestyle. The year I chose the word ‘explore’, I traveled to teach belly dance in Kuwait, Alaska, New Orleans, New York, Greece and swam with dolphins in Hawaii! Last year’s word was ‘let go’. I am still trying to decide between ‘gratitude’ and ‘abundance’ as my word for 2010.
