New Year’s Path to Health and Losing Weight through Detoxes, Cleanses, Fasting, Diets and Fitness

It’s the New Year and chances are over the last month you devoured several cheese plates and knocked back a few too many of the bubbly.  You feel more than just simply unhealthy, you feel toxic. To make matters worse, your schedule was jammed packed with shopping and parties and you not only stopped going to yoga or dance class, you can’t even button your jeans. So, you’ve decided that you want to purify your body as your way to get a fresh start. However, the sheer amount of different detoxes, cleanses, fasts and diet options available are inconceivable and you don’t know where to begin. You have a friend of a friend who said they lost 20 pounds after cutting dairy and sugar out of their diet. But before you take the leap to drinking maple syrup and lemon water for the next 20 days, here are my suggestions. I grew up in an alternative environment (hippie commune) and have heard them all, believe me. Naturally, please consult your physician before beginning any of the following.
